Chong Hua Vegetarian Union Opening Speech

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are grateful to the wise and farsighted President Jashu Shah and board of directors of Asian Vegetarian Union (AVU) to decide the site of Shen Wen Tian Tai Shan Tao Temple in Kaohsiung County, Taiwan, giving Chong Hwa Vegetarian Union (CHVU) such honorable chance as sponsor to hold the grand international congress this time.  It is filled of fresh air, vigorous anima, strong magnetic field and really nice circumstance here. Taiwan is called Formosa, a beautiful and precious island; especially there are several million vegetarian populations, so that it makes the universal vegetarians confidence with foresight to CHVU too.  We have a great esteem for the founder with foresighted sagacity of International Vegetarian Union (IVU), to advocate vegetarianism before the beginning 100 years, and we indeed hope that the vegetarianism will be popular in the world after 50 years.

Today, all the AVCIII vegetarian participants come from different country, race, religion, and rank; are benevolent worthy, and it is also proud that you insist your own idea.  I do hope that it will become globalizing vegetarianism in the future, and continually hold the vegetarian conference of outstanding participants year by year.

CHVU has the idea of all people belong to one family at all time, undertakes the great mission of IVU and AVU; and promotes the spirit and vitality of “Friends come from afar, isn’t it a great pleasure?”  According to the reason of to be host of AVCIII this time, we sincerely wish that we may see you again on International Vegetarian Congress in 2010 in such nice Formosa.
