Subject: Comments for AVC III Congress in Koashiung,Taiwan
To: john davis <vegweb@btinternet.com>, Bill Palethorpe < hobdell@fastmail.fm>, ivu-congress <ivu-congress@yahoogroups.com>
Dear John and all friends:

The Third Asian Vegetarian Congress (AVC III) in Koashiung,Taiwan, Nov. 3-7, 2007  is the most successful conference I have ever attended, I have  also received good impression of AVC III from several participants and speakers.

The whole function was perfect , enjoyable and unforgetable..Foods and drinks are excellent, the the program including symposium and workshops were croweded in more than 10 different rooms..

There are also many good keynote and symposium speakers from Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, India, Indonesia, China, Australia, Switzerland, USA, Germany and other countries. Very unfortunately , because we lost the contacts with those vegetarians in some Asian countries like Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Phillipines, so there was none from them.

Not  only the remarkable and amazing number of Taiwanese and Asian participants which we have inspired, but  our great host, I-Kaun-Toa Center and the AVC III coordinator Tianfoor Dharmma Sathan Foundation, also showed us their very strong unity through their meritful and spiritual devotion , heartful kindness, admirable friendship and warm hospitality .

The I-Kaun-Toa Center is a welknown Buddhist moralistic and vegetarian organization ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I-Kuan_Tao)  is now led  by  the most respected Chairperson,  Mr. Lin Tsai Ching and Cochairperson, Mr. Wang Kun Te . The  Tianfoor Dharmma Sathan Foundation was founded by the I-Kaun-Toa Center and is now under the management of Mr. Hsieh Yuan Chih the Chairperson and  the General Secretary, Mrs. Linda  Anavachakarn ,

Taiwan is great and modernized country for vegetarians to visit and easily to find several nice and clean veggie (vegan) restaurants on one street or in a town ( http://www.happycow.net/asia/taiwan/), we are confident that the country or Taiwan Vegetarian Union, is very well-organized, highly potential  and ready to host or organize any of the regional or international vegetarian congresses in the future.

As the past AVC III Program Chairman, I wish to express my heartfelt and grateful thanks again to the main host, I-Kuan-Toa and  Tianfoor Foundation, their active  organizing committee and the speakers. However, without a beginning agreement and permission  of Mr. Jashu Shah to select this venue and without cooperation of the speakers and audience, the AVC III will be not that successful.

Sincerely yours,

Maitree Suttajit

Appointed President of Asian Vegetarian Union
